SecureLogix CTO to Discuss Securing VOIP Networks

SecureLogix Corporation announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Mark Collier, will headline a presentation entitled "VOIP Security: Managing Risk" during the VoiceCon Spring 2006 conference and exhibition. The presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, from 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The conference will take place March 6-9 at the Gaylord Palms Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

There is increasing awareness that the general vulnerabilities of data networks can threaten the security of VOIP services. However, less is understood about VOIP application-specific threats. Sophisticated application-based attacks can be among the most damaging and difficult to solve. Examples include Denial-of-Service floods, malformed packet attacks, registration hijacking, SIP proxy impersonation, message tampering, session teardowns, and VOIP spam (also call "SPIT"). This presentation will examine the most significant threats to VOIP services, and discuss the latest security best practices and countermeasures.

In addition to Collier's presentation, SecureLogix will exhibit the voice/VOIP firewall and intrusion prevention capabilities of the company's ETM (Enterprise Telephony Management) System at booth #717 during the conference exhibition.
