Pac-West Telecomm, Inc., a leading provider of traditional and next-generation voice communications services, announced that Intrado, a global provider of integrated data and telecommunications solutions and a leading provider of VoIP 9-1-1 services, will utilize Pac-West's 911 Selective Router network trunking to facilitate the delivery of VoIP E911 calls.
Hank Carabelli, Pac-West's President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "Pac-West is executing on a planned national expansion of its infrastructure platform that bridges traditional circuit-switched and next-generation IP-based services. We are pleased that Intrado has chosen to utilize our platform to serve the needs of the growing VoIP community."
The initial phase of Pac-West's planned nationwide expansion will allow service providers to provide communications services to an addressable market of more than 150 million end-users across an additional 36 major metropolitan markets in the second-half of 2006. This infrastructure is anticipated to serve the needs of VoIP Providers, Wireless Broadband Providers, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Carriers and other Next-Generation Service Providers.
"Our relationship with Pac-West enables Intrado to extend the nationwide deployment of our V9-1-1 Service -- a public safety class VoIP E9-1-1 solution that provides carriers and enterprises comprehensive data management, call routing and delivery for E9-1-1," said Stephen Meer, Intrado cofounder and chief technology officer. "We look forward to working with Pac-West as we build out a robust and secure network for VoIP service providers on a national level."
