Joyent, a provider of web-based team collaboration and messaging software, has announced an agreement with Linksys One to integrate Joyent's Connector application suite with Linksys One's VoIP telephony solution. In addition to its current offerings, Joyent will add unified messaging (voice and data) management capabilities to the Linksys One communications system.
"Joyent will extend the elegant user interface and team collaboration capabilities of the Connector application suite to support Linksys One's VoIP solution," says Joyent CEO David Young. "Both Joyent and Linksys One focus on simplifying the complexity of new technologies that benefit small businesses without the need to build out expensive infrastructure. Combining our efforts and integrating voicemail management into Joyent naturally extends this shared focus."
With Joyent Connector and the Linksys One VoIP solution, when a customer receives a call on a Linksys One VoIP telephone, the last few emails, any upcoming calendar events, and contact information for the caller will appear in the browser. Customers will be able to conduct instant messaging sessions with Joyent's upcoming Chat application, and move those sessions to a conference call seamlessly. When a customer is away from their Linksys One phone, they'll have the ability to access all of the Connector's messaging capabilities from any web connection.
