Cedar Point Communications, the leader in integrated VoIP switching technologies for the cable industry, announced that it has selected a new joint venture by two of Europe's leading cable networking companies to support international deployments of Cedar Point's SAFARI C(Cubed) Media Switching System.
bridacom, formed by an alliance between Wilhelm Sihn Jr. GmbH & Co. KG (
WISI) and IET.HOLDING GmBH (
IET), will assist Cedar Point in identification of customer prospects, sales and other professional services, including installation and remote and on-site technical support capabilities, in Europe and elsewhere.
"A critical part of accelerating our deployment across Europe is creating the right network of sales and support partners," said Andy Paff, president and CEO for Cedar Point Communications. "We anticipate our ability to leverage the established relationships of WISI and IET through bridacom will be of great value in helping us deploy competitive telephony services within the European cable community."
"In a competitive environment, time to market is crucial for cable system operators deploying telephone services," said Axel Sihn, managing director for WISI. "We feel that the simplicity, cost-effectiveness and scalability of the SAFARI C(Cubed) Media Switching System make it an ideal choice for our existing and prospective customers."
"Our customers are seeking products that fulfill two needs: the immediate delivery of competitive voice services, and the advanced SIP features and IMS based services of the future," said Michael Loth, managing director & CEO for IET. "While the unique integrated design enables ease of deployment and cost savings today, SAFARI C(Cubed) also is flexible enough to support fixed-mobile convergence and other services that will help to differentiate cable in the years ahead."
The only totally integrated carrier class VoIP switch that incorporates all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure, SAFARI C(Cubed) provides seamless evolution to SIP-based features and an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture. SAFARI C(Cubed) provides superior performance and reliability, significantly reducing capital expenditures, system integration and operations costs for cable operators offering telephony services while increasing network integrity, security and privacy.
SAFARI C(Cubed) is PacketCable-qualified and future-architected to fit within an IMS core network infrastructure, allowing network operators to leverage their initial equipment investment in voice as they introduce such services as video telephony and fixed-mobile applications. New applications can be integrated into SAFARI C(Cubed), or can be accessed via third-party application servers.
