TippingPoint, a division of 3Com and the leader in intrusion prevention, announced that its Director of Security Research David Endler has been granted the Shaping Information Security Award from Info Security Products Guide, one of the leading publications on security-related technologies. Endler is also recognized in this month’s issue of Internet Telephony magazine as one of the "Top 100 Voices of IP Communications."

In addition to his role as director of security for TippingPoint, David Endler chairs the Voice over IP Security Alliance (VOIPSA), which he helped form on behalf of TippingPoint. Info Security Products Guide also granted the TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System the 2006 Tomorrow’s Technology Today Award specifically for its Quarantine Protection capabilities. Quarantine Protection was launched earlier this year, using the IPS as a network-based method of securing end points. TippingPoint was selected by the editors of Info Security Products Guide based on technologies that are making the most positive impact on security in today’s highly sophisticated attack environment.
