The semi-annual DEMO conferences present the most compelling new innovations from across the spectrum of the technology industry. From the latest advancement in data mining software to the year's must-have high tech gadget, DEMO events uncover the important products and services that shape the direction of the technology marketplace. DEMO 07, taking place January 30 - February 1, 2007 in Palm Desert, CA, will be the debut platform for approximately 70 new technologies.
"All the parts of the ecosystem that supports and advances technology attend DEMO," said Chris Shipley, executive producer of the DEMO conferences. "The entrepreneurs and visionaries present new ideas; the elite press corps react to and diffuse information about the technologies; the investors research the companies and dig into the trends; and the corporate executives form partnerships and begin vetting products for use within their enterprises. The fact that all these diverse elements attend DEMO means that a lot of real business happens on the conference floor."
DEMO is the only technology event of its kind, carefully screening applicants to ensure that only the most influential and thought-provoking ideas are presented. Each of the 70 demonstrators will take the stage, and each will have only six minutes to show off the salient uses and benefits of their products.
The DEMO stage is where new technology trends are set, unexplored investment opportunities are exposed, and powerful alliances are built. One recent demonstrator reports going from under the radar to more than 270 sales requests in one day. Another pulled off one of the most Web trafficked and discussed battery technology announcements ever, successfully creating a major new global battery brand. And a third announced $12M in venture funding following its participation in DEMO.
"DEMO has a relaxed, casual environment and it's always a lot of fun -- after all, it's exciting to see nearly 70 live demos of new technologies over the course of two packed days," continued Shipley. "But, don't let the informal atmosphere fool you. DEMO is the venue for critical exploration, development, and promotion of key new trends, products, and companies set to shake up the tech landscape in the months to come."
Demonstrator Application Process
The producers of the DEMO conferences are now accepting applications for DEMO 07. The DEMO conferences have served as launch pad events for companies such as Palm, salesforce.com, Six Apart, Skype, Danger, IronPort Systems, Sun Microsystems, and TiVo, helping them to establish themselves in the market, secure funding, develop business relationships, and influence early adopters.
Regardless of size, each company endures the same screening process when applying to demonstrate at a DEMO event. To be considered, a product must:
* make its North American public debut at the DEMO conference
* make a significant contribution to the state of the art in its target market
* change the dynamics of the marketplace into which it is introduced
* be backed by a management team capable of delivering the product to market
"DEMO is a perfect venue for efficiently meeting financiers, potential partners, customer prospects and media of every variety," said Todd Parsons, EVP of product & Business development at BuzzLogic, Inc. and a DEMOfall '06 demonstrator. "I can't imagine a better way to get so much incredible exposure in so little time."
