Sonim Technologies, announced that Swedish mobile phone retailer Dialect will offer the Sonim XP1 ruggedized handset across all retail locations nationwide. The XP1 will meet the needs of industrial workers and sports enthusiasts with its ease of use, durable exterior and extended battery life.
Sonim designed the XP1 to withstand severe elemental and environmental conditions and made the handset next to impossible to break. The XP1 can survive falls from heights up to 1.3m, making it a natural choice for users needing a ruggedized handset with sophisticated features. The XP1 is also IP52-Certified, meaning that it is resistant to water, rain and dust – three of the elements that are most disruptive in outdoor and industrial environments. The handsets will be available in all Dialect stores in December 2006.
Sonim XP1 is also the world´s first ruggedized, OMA PoC-compliant Push-To-Talk handset, providing a high-quality Push-To-Talk experience, and is already being used commercially across Europe.
“The Sonim XP1 provides a rugged but technologically advanced phone that meets the needs of both consumer clients who are looking for a durable phone for outdoor use and industrial workers who need a reliable, rugged handset,” said Jojje Måbrant, Product Manager for mobile phones at Dialect. “We are pleased to offer such a modern, functional and industry-certified phone to our customers.”
“Dialect is a progressive retailer known for offering its customer base the best selection of handsets,” said Johan Bergström, Senior Director for Europe at Sonim. “With the XP1, Dialect is meeting the needs of two groups that need a phone that can withstand a variety of environmental factors and still provide innovative technology, and they achieve these goals with the XP1.
