NextAlarm.com announces the release of the VoIPAlarm Receiver. The VoIPAlarm Receiver allows any alarm central station or response center to utilize NextAlarm's patent-pending Alarm Broadband Network technology for transmission and delivery of alarm signals via the Internet.
"With the vast and still growing number of homes and businesses that have switched to Voice-Over-IP phone service or digital phone lines, central stations are finding that they can no longer receive alarms reliably," said NextAlarm CEO Alex Elliot. "The new receiver uses our proven technology to solve the VoIP problem. The price, for both the central station and the end user, is very economical, right in line with why people are switching to VoIP in the first place."
The VoIPAlarm Receiver emulates several popular central station automation formats to ensure compatibility with the existing software at central stations, and can receive signals from any Contact ID compatible alarm system. The package includes built-in backups and redundancies, and is enclosed in a compact case which can be rack or desk mounted.
In an industry first, the receiver is also compatible with the two-way voice and audio verification features found in many modern security systems. These features are incompatible with other Internet-based monitoring products currently available. Owners of alarm systems monitored through a VoIPAlarm Receiver will also be able to utilize advanced online features, such as web-based signal histories, access to their accounts via mobile device, and e-mail or text message notifications of alarms.
