IPEVO's new PoV web camera is now available for purchase at the company's
online store, and will be available at Fry's Electronics in mid April. First unveiled at CES 2008, IPEVO's detachable webcam has created a stir by letting users capture images and video from any angle and vantage point. The PoV received the 2007 Good Design Award from Japan in the category of Product Design.
PoV gives people the unique opportunity to share their "Point of View" during Skype calls, Instant Messaging, chat sessions, and other Internet Communication applications. With a simple point and click, users can instantly share the sights and sounds around them -- whether it's showing the scene around the office, capturing a dog's latest trick, or sharing a bouquet of flowers. And with PoV's multiple digital zoom, users can express their creativity by zooming in close on a circuit board to reveal a cityscape or focusing on blades of grass on a computer screen.
With a pen-like design, PoV is easy to pick up and point at any subject. The web camera can rest on a base, or be clamped to a laptop or monitor. An integrated microphone captures sound for shooting video clips or video-conferencing. PoV is compatible with major Instant Messaging applications, including Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Web Messenger, and Windows Live Messenger. Skype software is also included to let users send snapshots to any of their Skype contacts right out of the box.
This unique web camera is available now for just $39.99 MSRP.
