Voxbone opened its new Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore. At the same time, Voxbone also announced the appointment of Lee Tian Yew as vice president for Asia Pacific to direct its sales, business development and operations in the region. Furthermore, Voxbone said it had received licenses to operate in both Japan and Hong Kong. Voxbone now operates in 44 countries and 5,000 cities globally.
Tian Yew comes to Voxbone with more than 15 years’ experience, most recently with Singapore-based Pacific Internet (now PacNet), where he built a team that implemented SIP broadband telephony across eight countries in Asia. He began his career at SingTel and had held various senior management positions at VSNL, Teleglobe and Mediaring.
Voxbone services, which include DID and toll-free numbers, are deployed by mobile operators, PSTN carriers, VoIP providers, call center operators and NGN service providers worldwide. Voxbone is a recognized member of the International Telecommunication Union and part of the study group that is responsible for numbering standardization around the world.
