AT&T Signs New VoIP Service Contract with Bulkmatic Transport

AT&T announces a new VoIP service contract with Bulkmatic Transport Co., a leader in dry bulk cargo shipping and distribution. Addressing bandwidth issues and network reliability, AT&T's network solution will support traffic for more than 30 domestic locations on a consolidated, integrated platform.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T — Bulkmatic Transport Co.'s primary voice and network provider — will deploy its Private Network Transport, a fully managed network solution that runs on Multiprotocol Label Switching technology. AT&T's PNT offers any-to-any connectivity, providing secure access from Bulkmatic Transport Co.'s many locations. Additionally, the PNT solution's expanded bandwidth will enhance the stability and convenience of VoIP applications across the platform. VoIP technology provides flexibility to AT&T's customers, allowing greater convergence of data and voice applications on a single network structure.

AT&T Nears Completion of 3G Wireless Technology Deployment

AT&T announces that, in the next month, the company will deploy High Speed Uplink Packet Access technology in the six remaining markets across AT&T's entire 3G (third-generation) wireless broadband network. When done, AT&T will have completed its deployment of HSUPA technology, which complements existing HSDPA technology, making AT&T the only U.S. carrier to have fully deployed HSPA technology in its 3G network.

Today the superfast AT&T 3G network is available in more than 275 markets. By year-end, the AT&T 3G network will be available in nearly 350 markets

AT&T CallVantage VoIP Service Experiencing Outage

It appears that AT&T's CallVantage VoIP service has been experiencing an outage across the country for some time now. Users who spoke to AT&T's CV support were told there was a "huge outage". At 11am EDT they had not diagnosed the problem yet.

AT&T expands the availability of AT&T Voice Over IP Connect Service (AVOICS). AVOICS is the flagship wholesale VoIP offer for U.S. service providers that want IP-based connectivity to AT&T's global IP network for long distance call termination. For more than 10 years, AT&T has provided wholesale VoIP solutions, which address the U.S. domestic and international termination needs of service providers with a variety of connectivity options.

AVOICS provides unbranded and unbundled transport over the AT&T network, as well as termination of international and U.S. domestic traffic. Customers connect to the service via AT&T's Managed Internet Service/Multiprotocol Label Switching-Private Network Transport service, which provides class-of-service voice quality, key security elements and advanced network reliability. AVOICS is highly scalable and accepts U.S.-originated domestic outbound (1+) calls and international outbound (011+) calls by using SIP signaling.
