Mystery Virtual Phone Now Confirmed as Wizzl

Wizzl is preparing to launch a virtual phone that is unlike anything anyone has used before. Wizzl offers the general public a preliminary beta version.

Over the last three years Wizzl has developed free communication software which will allow its users ('Wizzlers') to make free voice and video calls over the internet, and calls to local and international phones and mobiles from only 1.5 Eurocents per minute. And it doesn't stop there; with Wizzl's all-in-one virtual phone, Wizzlers will have direct access to live TV, internet radio stations and the most popular web games around. Personal photographs, music and videos will also be at users' fingertips.

Expanding on Wizzl's present features, Jaap Korevaar continues, 'Wizzl offers a global rate of 1.5 Eurocents per minute for calling phones and mobiles in over 50 popular destinations across the world, and connects to over 70 international destinations not available with other internet telephony software. Unlike other online VoIP services, Wizzl software does not depend on super nodes; which is good news for processing speeds and even better news for bandwidth usage. On 23 November, we will officially launch the beta version for desktops and laptops. But I invite all interested people to get connected today and be among the first to discover the possibilities of Wizzl with us. And in the spring of 2008, Wizzl will also be available for mobile phones.'

VoIP Call Recording Software is Ready for Latest Mac OS

Arcosoft announces that VONaLink SoloRecord has been tested on Apple Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. VONaLink works with any VoIP phone system based on the open SIP standard, such as Vonage, to record phone calls and to provide screen pops. Also available is a separate VONaLink ScreenPop product, if recording is not required.

Call recording benefits a company by allowing business transactions over the phone to be verified and disputes resolved. With traditional phone systems, calls are recorded with either analog equipment or expensive, proprietary products from the phone company. With the latest VoIP systems built on open, standard protocols, calls can be recorded by monitoring network packets.

Tpad Launches a New VoIP Softphone Service

tpad_logo1.jpgTpad has launched a new softphone service that lets all first time users make their first call to landlines and mobiles for free. The popular VoIP provider has launched the new softphone in order to compete with other internet telephony companies such as Skype. To take advantage of the free call, users have to create a free Tpad account and download the free Tpad Softphone or use any VoIP Device (ATA / IP Phone / WiFi Mobile).

Chris Morris, General Manager for Tpad, said: "We have been listening to the feedback from our customers and as a result we have redesigned both our website and Softphone. The Tpad website is now easier to navigate and our new softphone is even simpler to use to make low cost international calls"

Morris continued: "In celebration of this achievement we are going to add 20 cents (USD) to all first time users' accounts for a limited period. For example, this will let them make a free 20 minute call to any normal phone or mobile in the US using Tpad's ultra low call rates. Of course calls between Tpad users are 100% free all the time"

WiFiMobile on the Values of Developing a Mobile VoIP Client

WiFiMobile highlights the benefits of having their own VoIP client rather than relying on Network Operators supplying handsets with the manufacturer’s client pre-installed. Back in April this year both Vodafone and Orange in the UK instructed a major handset manufacturer to disable the standard Internet Telephony from their top of the range model. This move left a sour taste for the vast majority of mobile VoIP operators as their software relies entirely on the standard VoIP client software stack being installed. Without this their service simply won’t function.
