WiMAX, Wi-Fi, VoIP and Security in One Box
This week at WiMAX World in Boston,
ZyXEL Communications Inc.
, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, will announce the latest addition to their WiMAX product line with the MAX-200H and MAX-300 broadband gateway customer premise equipment (CPE). ZyXEL is the first to market with an all-in-one solution based on the IEEE802.16e-2005 standard that combines WiMAX, Wi-Fi, VoIP and security in a single box.
Recognized as the largest broadband gateway provider in the world, ZyXEL’s new WiMAX broadband gateway -- the MAX-200H provides end users with a comprehensive solution that delivers wireless Internet to the home, through the growing availability of WiMAX with Wi-Fi access for in-home network sharing.
“At ZyXEL, we are uniquely positioned to support our customers with reliable yet innovative WiMAX solutions,” said Munira Brooks, senior vice president of sales, marketing and business development for ZyXEL. “By combining our expertise in the areas of xDSL, Wi-Fi technology, security and VoIP, we are able to make highly integrated WiMAX products for today’s broadband-centric end users.”
The MAX-200H and MAX-300 WiMAX gateways offer an all-in-one solution and easy remote management and installation for service providers. Both products enable service providers to deliver last mile wireless broadband access to customers as an alternative to cable and DSL and provide a complete and secure broadband wireless experience. The MAX-200H is a highly integrated all-in-one router with advanced Firewall security, built-in Wi-Fi access, a fast 4-port Ethernet switch and VoIP capability. The MAX-300 is the outdoor version of the MAX-200H, providing the same all-in-one features but is ideal for installing outside for long range communications because of its outdoor housing, designed for all weather conditions. In addition to the MAX-200H and MAX-300, ZyXEL’s line of WiMAX products also include the MAX-200 CPE 802.16e-2005 gateway/router with a built-in SIP based VoIP ATA port and the MAX-100 series PCMCIA card.
Availability
The MAX-200H and MAX-300 are available now for service provider testing. Products will be commercially available in the fourth quarter of 2006. For more information about ZyXEL’s WiMAX products and their full product line, please call 1-800-255-4101.
