AccessLine Awarded Two U.S. Patents
AccessLine Communications
, has increased its intellectual property portfolio through the addition of two new patents for its proprietary telecommunications network. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) has granted AccessLine’s applications for patents that cover a cost effective nationwide call processing system and a dynamic security method for VoIP services.
The first, Patent No. 7,068,772, entitled “Economical call processing system and method, such as for providing one-number telecommunication services,” protects one of the methods employed by AccessLine to enhance the overall reliability of its nationwide local number access network.
The second, Patent No. 7,106,845, entitled “Dynamic security system and method, such as for use in a telecommunications system,” covers aspects of the company’s multi-layer security system that protects against unauthorized access to its VoIP services and features. Rather than employing simple static personal identification numbers (PINs) that are susceptible to hacking, AccessLine has invented a number of methods to support dynamically changing PINs that can be controlled by each user, based on his or her unique requirements, or with respect to any given data.
“As the hosted VoIP services market increases its adoption rate, AccessLine continues to demonstrate market leadership for the business sector through technological innovations such as these, now being recognized and protected by U.S. patents,” said Fred Epler, Chief Scientist at AccessLine. “Acquiring patents for critical elements of our VoIP architecture allows us to further differentiate our products, such as our SmartVoice Service for business, from competitive offerings. “
Now available in most states, AccessLine’s SmartVoice Service offers as much as 50 percent savings over traditional business phone rates while delivering all the benefits of advanced business telephone service. Combining local, long distance, and toll free phone service with no need for the purchase of any phone equipment, AccessLine’s SmartVoice Service delivers savings while making it easy for customers to transition from their current legacy phone service.
