Report: The Worldwide IP Phone Market - Wired, DECT and Wi-Fi - Business and Consumer IP Phone Shipments to Exceed 40 Million in 2015
Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "
The Worldwide IP Phone Market: Wired, DECT, and Wi-Fi
" report to their offering.
IP phone sales have recovered from the deep recession in 2009 and are poised for growth. Within the business market, wired IP phones remain the standard and will continue to dominate the enterprise IP phone market throughout the forecast period. However, Wi-Fi and IP DECT phones continue to grow.
This report includes vendor market shares for 2009 vs. 2010 and forecasts through 2015 for wired, DECT, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi/cellular IP phones sold to consumers and businesses.
Executive Summary:
Worldwide sales of IP phones picked up momentum in 2010, as the movement toward IP telephony systems continues. Within the business market, corded IP phones remain the standard, and will continue to dominate the enterprise IP phone market throughout the forecast period. New In-Stat research forecasts IP phone shipments, for both business and consumer, will exceed 40 million units in 2015.
IP phones are enabling businesses and consumers to use their telephone system for more advanced communications, says Norm Bogen, VP Digital Entertainment. These applications are more clearly understood in the enterprise space, where IP-based communication is replacing TDM networks at a steady pace. On the consumer side, the market for Wi-Fi phones has not materialized, instead, DECT phones dominate the consumer IP phone market.
Recent research by In-Stat found the following:
Cisco and Avaya are leading the market for enterprise IP phones. Among other major competitors are Aastra, Alcatel-Lucent, LG , Mitel, NEC, Polycom, ShoreTel, and Siemens.
Outside of service provider deployments and Skype, consumer adoption of VoIP has been minimal.
Business Wi-Fi/Cellular Phone Shipments grew by nearly 40% in 2010 over 2009. Among the leading handset OEMs in the dual-mode segment, HTC saw the biggest share gain.
Recent In-Stat research, The Worldwide IP Phone Market: Wired, DECT, and Wi-Fi, examines the emerging market for business and consumer IP telephones. The report includes vendor market shares and forecasts through 2015 for wired, DECT, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi/cellular IP phones sold to consumers and businesses. Additional data includes:
Size of the IP phone market by phone type
Demand for IP phones by consumers and businesses
IP phone trends and market outlook
Five year unit and revenue forecast for IP phones
This research is part of In-Stats Business IP Communication service which provides comprehensive analysis and forecasts of the market for business IP communications, including unified communications, VoIP and fixed mobile convergence.
