PhoneGnome Free Calling to Millions Worldwide
PhoneGnome
, announced the new PhoneGnome Service 2.0 that offers multiple ways to make free long distance and international calls to most telephones in the world. PhoneGnome Service 2.0 requires no hardware, and gives consumers free or low priced calls using their home phone, mobile phone, or PC.
"Since its introduction, PhoneGnome has been used by people all around the world. PhoneGnome owners love the product," said TelEvolution founder David Beckemeyer. "Until now, PhoneGnome was only available for landline phones and only to those with the PhoneGnome box. With our release of PhoneGnome 2.0 today, PhoneGnome's free calling and other benefits are now accessible to practically any telephone user, including mobile phone users and those with only dial-up Internet service, and regardless of whether they have the PhoneGnome box."
Free PhoneGnome calling applies to anyone using the PhoneGnome service. Signing up is free and requires no special hardware or software. Users can sign up for a free Web-activated PhoneGnome account and make free calls within minutes using the phone they already have, whether mobile or landline. Those who prefer to use a PC can use the free PhoneGnome software to place calls. The original PhoneGnome box is still available for the ultimate in direct-dial simplicity at home.
"PhoneGnome is a terrific product because it combines VoIP with regular phone service," said industry analyst Jon Arnold, Principal, J Arnold & Associates. "PhoneGnome s new Service 2.0 does not require a device, provides more features and gives more people -- even those with dial-up Internet connections -- the ability to benefit from the PhoneGnome technology."
Free calling applies to landline and mobile numbers anywhere in the United States and Canada, and landline calls to 18 international destinations, including most numbers in Portugal, Argentina, Ireland, Italy, Russia, Australia, United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Singapore, Greece, Norway, Poland, Netherlands, Germany, China, France, and Spain. Free PhoneGnome calling applies when both call participants are registered PhoneGnome users. For the remaining calls, the PhoneGnome service lets users select from a number of third-party providers.
The PhoneGnome box is a small plug-and-play device that connects between the existing home phone service and one's telephones to supplement the home phone with VoIP-enabled capabilities such as free calls, low priced calling options, and features such as voicemail to email, without sacrificing the landline benefits of reliable 911 or telephone availability when the Internet is down. The PhoneGnome box is not required to use PhoneGnome Service 2.0.
To celebrate the announcement of PhoneGnome Service 2.0, TelEvolution is offering the optional PhoneGnome box at a promotional price of $59.99 for a limited time. PhoneGnome's usual low price is $99.99.
When using PhoneGnome software or the PhoneGnome box to place calls, free calls can also be made to millions of VoIP users around the world, including users on Free World Dialup, Gizmo Project, or EarthLink. Calls to any number with the PhoneGnome box installed are always free, regardless of location. The new "Bring Your Own Device" option opens the PhoneGnome service to thousands of customers with their own compatible hardware, free of charge.
