Contest to Name VoiceStick Downloadable IP Voice Service
i2Telecom International, Inc.
, a pioneer in globally ultra-portable high quality Voice-over Internet Protocol ("VoIP") products and services, announced a contest to name its "downloadable IP Voice Service", the next generation of the company's well known VoiceStick.
"We are on the verge of acquiring large distribution surrounding the VoiceStick service, and we want to ensure that the service, which is so unique and user-friendly, has broad user acceptance and a name which will drive recognition of its benefits," stated Paul Arena, Chief Executive Officer of i2Telecom International, Inc. "Many consumers are not sure how VoIP works, and we want to give everyone the opportunity to try our superior product at no charge. Many people are not aware that calls between VoiceStick users are free to and from anywhere in the world. Interested users can download the service for free, try it out and send us a name suggestion."
The contest will begin at noon on May 15, 2006 and end on June 15, 2006. All entries must be received by midnight eastern time on June 15, 2006 to be eligible. Those wishing to participate can enter the contest at
www.voicestick.com
, where they should click on the "Name Game" entry form on the home page.
The winner will be chosen by i2Telecom on June 19, 2006. The grand prize winner will receive an unlimited lifetime global calling plan and $5,000 in cash. 100 runner-ups will receive a year's membership for unlimited global calling from i2Telecom. Only three entries are allowed per person, and anyone who enters more than three times will be disqualified from the contest. All names entered for the contest become the legal property of i2Telecom. Employees of i2Telecom are not eligible.
All entries will be reviewed and rated by i2Telecom judges based upon the official rules and judging criteria, which are available on the contest web site. A list of winning names will be announced and posted on the Company's web site on June 19, 2006.
The "to be named" VoiceStick software allows users to access the i2Telecom network instantaneously from anywhere in the world, using a broadband connection. It is designed to leverage the company's software already available on its popular, award-winning VoiceStick plug-and-play VoIP device; current subscribers caught without their VoiceStick device will be able to download the software at any time from
www.voicestick.com
.
Easy to install on a laptop or desktop PC, VoiceStick softphone lets a user select a personal phone number from almost any Area Code in the United States for free. Existing customers of the VoiceStick portable device will be able to access their accounts by simply logging in via their UserID and password. In addition, the software will e-mail voicemail messages to users (as a ".wav" file) when the call goes unanswered.
Other features include call waiting, global call forwarding, speed dial, 3-way and multi-way calling, do-not-disturb and call-ignore settings, 911 access, among an extensive list of features. The software also gives the user the ability to save telephone numbers (incoming and outgoing) directly to the user's VoiceStick softphone Phone Book or Outlook Contacts. The new service will also include additional features such as video calling, IM chat capabilities and other features as they become available.
