Quintum Announces New Software Enhancements to the Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switch Products
Quintum Technologies
, a leading innovator in VoIP technologies, is announcing a new version of software for their Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switch product line.
The entire line of Tenor MultiPath Switches and Gateways will now be fully upgradable to this newest release. The most significant addition to the software is a new Tenor Configuration Wizard that automatically deploys when a new Tenor is added to the network. The Wizard dramatically simplifies the user interface to ease the installation process for the most common applications.
"The new Quintum configuration wizard has even further simplified deployment of their Tenor line of VoIP switches and gateways," said Stephen Kirby, President of S/CM VoIP in Stamford, CT. "I can now configure the Tenor products in a matter of minutes, which saves me significant time and in my opinion, sets a new standard of excellence."
Tenors now offer support for DNS addressing which allows the routing of calls using URLs. Using symbolic names rather than IP addresses makes management easier because reconfiguration of the equipment is not necessary in the event that the IP address changes. In addition, multiple hosts can be utilized for each name, providing failover capability and automatic load balancing. Tenor also now supports an IP Discovery Protocol, which eliminates the need to configure the IP address by the console. This further simplifies configuration and remote deployment.
Beyond the addition of these features that make the Quintum Tenor even easier to deploy and use, Quintum has added a wide variety of other capabilities. The Tenor DX models now offer support for up to 96 SIP user agents, and the Tenor Carrier MultiPath Switch offers support for up to 192, allowing larger installations to be deployed, and offering more broad application support, such as VoIP local access.
This new software also offers support for more mapped ports (120 for the Tenor DX and 960 for the Tenor Carrier MultiPath Switch). This allows larger branch offices to take advantage of PBX extension functionality. The ability to accept calls only from selected proxies enhances security by assuring that calls from unknown callers will not be accepted onto the Tenor network.
"Quintum has put a tremendous effort into enhancing the functionality for our Tenors to address the needs of our customers," said Chuck Rutledge, Vice President of Quintum Technologies. "This latest release adds capabilities that our customers have been asking for, while continuing our legacy of making VoIP easier to deploy."
Quintum's Tenor VoIP MultiPath VoIP access solutions are designed for traditional, IP-PBX and hybrid enterprise environments, as well as for service providers deploying VoIP-based services directly to enterprises requiring customer premise equipment at the edge. Tenors integrate call routing & processing for transparent deployment into existing voice (circuit and VoIP) and IP networks. Tenor's unique MultiPath architecture makes it the easiest
VoIP solution to deploy in the industry requiring no changes to the PBX or by the users.
The new software is currently available for download from the Quintum customer service site, and is being loaded on new Tenor products as they are being shipped.
