CableLabs and EuroCableLabs have announced that 10 companies will participate in the EuroCableNET Pavilion that is part of the 2006 Broadband World Forum Europe conference and exhibition to be held 9-12 October in Paris at the CNIT La Defense.
The companies participating in EuroCableNET 2006 are CableMatrix, Gallery IP Telephony, JacobsRimell, Motorola, NETGEAR, an integrated VoIP demonstration from Nominum, NeuStar, Nortel, and Acme Packet; Nuera - An AudioCodes Company; OpVista, Strategy & Technology Ltd./UniSoft, and VectorMAX.
Technologies and services that these companies will demonstrate include 160 Mbps downstream transmission over the (Euro)DOCSIS high-speed data platform, PacketCable Multimedia applications, Internet Protocol video (IPTV) multicast of live video over a DOCSIS cable network, broadband wireless delivery of voice, video and data services and Voice over IP (VoIP) using the cable network. The VoIP demonstrations will include optimizing call routing and guaranteed throughput features.
The Broadband World Forum Europe is organized by the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) to examine market potential of broadband services and applications from top industry executives around the world. The EuroCableNET Pavillion, along with over 100 exhibiting companies displaying the latest developments in broadband technologies, is expected to attract over 7,000 attendees to this annual four-day program. More information and registration details on the show are available at

"This year's showcase is our largest and most diverse, indicating that our industry and its suppliers continue to develop the technologies that have made cable a leader in providing innovative broadband services to meet the demands of our customers," said CableLabs President and CEO Dr. Richard R. Green.
Added Niels Hersoug, Managing Director of EuroCableLabs: "Over the last years, the cable industry has benefited strongly from the development of (Euro)DOCSIS. The recent publications of DOCSIS 3.0 will allow speeds of 200 Mbps and more. The showcases at EuroCableNET will clearly demonstrate the competitive advantage cable has over competing technical platforms."
Patterned after the CableNET(R) showcase that is co-sponsored by CableLabs and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) as part of the NCTA annual convention, EuroCableNET will include separate displays by each participating company.
