MediaRing to Offer Its VoIP Client on HP Computers

logo_mediaring.jpegMediaRing announced a strategic collaboration with Hewlett-Packard to develop and deliver enhanced VoIP communications services targeting a rich end-user experience. Under this relationship, HP will pre-install the Singapore-based VoIP service provider’s MediaRing Talk VoIP client application on consumer desktops and notebooks shipped with Microsoft Vista platform.

MediaRing is launching their MediaRing Talk service, which offers a feature-rich Session Initiation Protocol standards-based VoIP client. Amongst its multiplicity of features, MediaRing Talk offers PC-to-PC, PC-to-Phone and Phone-to-PC calls along with Instant Messaging. The service also has Text Collaboration and on-demand Voice Conferencing capability.

Said CEO of MediaRing, Mr. Khaw Kheng Joo, “Our strategic relationship with HP is a major win for us. This unified and secured approach to manage voice and data through a single easy-to-use interface is infinitely exciting for users. We believe that MediaRing and HP can offer significant benefits to consumers through this collaboration.”

HP’s consumer customers will enjoy MediaRing Talk’s free and unlimited PC-to-PC calls, conferencing and text collaboration support and extremely low rates for PC-to-Phone calls – benefits gained from MediaRing’s inter-connection with more than 150 global carriers and a network spanning over 200 countries.

HP expects to have consumer desktops and notebooks pre-installed with MediaRing Talk by fall of 2007. The products will be available in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan.

A subscription to a phone number associated with a MediaRing Talk client enables anyone to reach the user using a traditional landline or mobile phone. An easy-to-navigate co-branded website will enable users to manage their services online.

MediaRing’s managed voice network along with patented voice delivery technology helps to provide near toll quality voice with minimal bandwidth usage. To cater to a global user base, MediaRing Talk provides multi-language user interface in English and Chinese with development of several other languages in the pipeline. Being part of the Google Talk Federation, MediaRing Talk users can eventually communicate with users on the Google Talk platform.
