3CX Phone System Delivers Mission Critical PBX Which Offers Unified Communications Features
3CX
has implemented the 3CX Phone System in the offices of gas turbine specialist, Agilis. Up until recently, Agilis relied on an outdated Toshiba CTX-IP system. Although being IP based, the Toshiba PBX was proprietary, non-industry compliant and technically obsolete, as well as not incorporating any Unified Communications features. It was cumbersome and was expensive to expand and administer.
Agilis was happy to turn to the Windows-based 3CX Phone System, as it knew it could serve the needs of the various office locations, was cost effective and a simple to operate PBX. The Unified Communications features within the 3CX Phone System would assist in the increase in productivity levels throughout the entire company. As Agilis make use of remote workers, this key support staff would always need to be accessible, with the new phone system being able to deliver remote access to any location and also all other Agilis office locations that are spread in two countries.
Furthermore, Agilis made significant savings as the 3CX Phone System supports the existing 160 Yealink T26 and T28 IP phones. The costs would have spiraled if these handsets were to be made redundant. The Agilis Yealink T26 and T28 IP phones achieved steady interoperability with the 3CX Phone System, whilst providing stable HD voice and additional customizable features. Supporting Auto-provision via FTP, TFTP, HTTP and HTTPS, ensured these Yealink phones were compatible with the new 3CX Phone System. Paired together, 3CX and Yealink offered Agilis an efficient and reliable phone solution.
The new 3CX Phone System implementation would also have to make use of the two T1s via a VoIP gateway. Agilis selected the SmartNode 4960 from Patton Electronics to provide PSTN access via the two existing T1s. Supporting 90 concurrent VoIP calls, the SN4960 scales up to 120 calls with a simple software upgrade. In addition to VoIP-over-VPN security with IPsec-encrypted voice, AES/DES strong encryption and automated keying via Internet Key Exchange, Patton SmartNode provides dial-backup and IP-link redundancy for VoIP and data survivability. The Patton SmartNode 4960 gateway has been tested and is supported for use with the 3CX Phone System. Patton has mutually certified the SmartNode 4960 to work seamlessly with the 3CX Phone System.
