One Connect IP to Acquire NSI Communications
One Connect IP
, a leading regional Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service provider, announced it has signed an agreement to acquire
NSI Communications LLC
, a provider of VOIP services in the Idaho and Utah markets. One Connect IP, a privately held company headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, currently serves business and residential customers throughout the Mountain West Region.
"One Connect's acquisition of NSI accelerates our VoIP rollout in the Mountain West region," said Robert Pratt, One Connect IP chief executive officer. "By combining NSI's network and solid customer base with One Connect's market-leading VoIP services, we expect to greatly accelerate the availability of VoIP and communications services bundles to these underserved markets."
"I look forward to the opportunity of working with One Connect IP and expanding upon what NSI has begun," said NSI Communications managing member Gary Voigt. "This combination will enable us to provide superior business communications solutions to customers throughout Idaho and Utah. One Connect's platform, technical expertise, market savvy and financial strength will give us a distinct advantage in providing flexible and well supported VoIP solutions to our customers."
VoIP represents a dramatic transformation in telecommunications that leverages the power of the Internet to enable next generation communications capabilities. It uses a broadband Internet connection to carry local and long distance voice calls.
One Connect IP will rollout services under its own brand and will over time convert existing NSI customers to its own brand and soft switch platform while continuing to operate existing services. One Connect IP was launched to deploy next generation VoIP communications services, via a highly advanced software-based development platform, for small and medium-size businesses in traditionally underserved markets throughout the Mountain West region.
One Connect IP currently offers a comprehensive suite of business VoIP solutions to accommodate varying customers' needs. One Connect IP's solution is a full-feature hosted PBX offering that provides advanced PBX capabilities without the need to install expensive PBX hardware at the customer premise. Some features of the service include local phone numbers and number portability, free long distance, advanced auto attendant capabilities, self-managed moves, adds and changes, unified messaging and a web portal interface. Integration with Microsoft Outlook allows users to make and return calls with just a mouse click.
