Worldwide Market Leader for VoIP Application Servers Named

Netcentrex, the leading enabler of next generation converged voice and video solutions, announced that, according to an annual report issued by industry research firm iLocus, Netcentrex delivered 29% of VoIP local call volume minutes for standards-based Voice over Broadband (VoBB) platforms, making the company the leader in this market. In addition, Netcentrex was named the leading Independent Subscriber Feature Server worldwide, with 32% market share.

iLocus, who reported the findings in its "Global VoIP Market 2006" study, stated in the report that total VoIP local call volume for 2005 was 210.3 billion minutes of which an estimated 52.6 billion minutes were generated by VoBB services. Assigning market leadership in this way is the most reliable method; since service providers themselves are polled there is little leeway for the abuses that sometimes occur in vendor-reported data.

Netcentrex 2005 shipments also accounted for 1.2 million lines of the total 3.7 million lines shipped in the Independent Subscriber Feature Server category, defined as open VoIP systems that are not imbedded into proprietary hardware systems such as gateways and can be deployed with other 3rd party components.

"Netcentrex continues to impress by leading in multiple categories. Their dedication to open and standards-based platforms has served them well," stated Jahangir Raina, Director, iLocus. "Netcentrex has proven the scalability of their platform with some of the largest VoIP deployments in the world and it is clearly paying off in the quantitative data that we track."

"We are delighted that iLocus has confirmed that Netcentrex is the number one VoBB platform and VoIP Feature Server used by service providers worldwide," commented Olivier Hersent, Chairman and CTO of Netcentrex. "As Netcentrex crosses the 3 million VoIP lines milestone, market research firms such as iLocus are observing what our customers have already come to know, which is the unique mix of innovation and deployability of our solutions."
