Voxbone Expands Presence in North America Telecom Market
Voxbone
is expanding efforts to help service providers and enterprises in North America extend the reach of their international networking capabilities rapidly and cost-effectively.
Voxbone said it is bolstering its presence in North America with the addition of Hugh Goldstein, an experienced expert in the VoIP and telecommunications services industry, as Vice President for Business Development for North America.
The only operator of its kind with self-owned licenses and number ranges, Voxbone has experienced rapid growth since 2005. It already serves more than 300 service providers in the United States, and its global network footprint includes PoPs in Los Angeles and New York.
Customers worldwide include Internet and Internet telephony service providers, long-distance operators, call center operators, conferencing operators, and hosted PBX and IVR providers such as Skype, Jajah, IDT, Global Crossing, Voxeo and Phone.com.
CEO Rod Ullens said Voxbone is glad to have Goldstein leading its efforts in the crucial North America services market, especially in the U.S., where the company sees strong operator demand for direct inward dialing (DID) numbers, adoption of VoIP services is well under way by consumers and businesses, and a deregulated marketplace allows Voxbone customers to thrive.
“Hugh has a keen grasp of how our customers in the U.S. and Canada can take full advantage of Voxbone services and support them as they develop innovative global IP communications services and applications,” Ullens said.
Prior to assuming his current role, Goldstein led business development for Voxbone's iNum® initiative to create a global numbering system for IP communications and worked as an independent consultant. His industry experience also includes positions with XConnect, Arbinet, VocalTec, Surf&Call Solutions and Belgacom North America.
“Telephone numbers are universal identifiers for enterprise, small-business and consumer VoIP, and they will continue to play a key role in interconnecting the next generation of all-IP and cloud-based voice and video services,” Goldstein said. “I’m excited to work with Voxbone’s valued customers to ensure our services and market strategy anticipate their needs and to develop new business and technology relationships in North America.”
As further indicators of Voxbone’s intent to boost its presence in North America, Ullens noted that the company recently incorporated its U.S. subsidiary and beefed up the capabilities of its network operations center in Los Angeles. Voxbone also offers all-encompassing coverage of area codes and local exchanges in the continental United States, he said.
"Voxbone helped us to expand our business focus from the domestic market to an international level easily and with limited costs,” said Ari Rabban, CEO of Phone.com, based in Livingston, N.J. "We look forward to continuing to work with Voxbone as the company extends its presence in the United States.”
