Nation's First 911 Solution, RedSky Rates 'Avaya Compliant'
RedSky Technologies
, a leading provider of E911 location information management solutions, announced that its latest version of E911 Manager is the first 911 solution for IP phone systems compliant with major Internet protocol (IP) telephony solutions from
Avaya
, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.
E911 Manager v5.0 helps companies, government agencies and Voice over IP (VoIP) service providers manage the detailed, life-saving location information necessary for effective 911 emergency response by automating the process of keeping this data accurate and current. This capability has become even more critical as today's IP telephony solutions make it possible for workers to become increasingly mobile.
E911 Manager has successfully been tested and rated compliant with Avaya Communication Manager 3.0 and is optimized for use with Avaya's entire line of traditional and IP-based phone systems. New features added to E911 Manager include network discovery of IP endpoints and Emergency On-site Notification (EON) for real time, enterprise-wide, notification of 911 calls in progress.
The Communication Manager 3.0 is industry-leading IP telephony software and is a core part of Avaya's suite of MultiVantage Communications Applications. CM 3.0 delivers IP communications with advanced levels of survivability, reliability and collaboration in addition to support for open Web Services-based applications development to let developers easily create the next generation of business communications applications.
"This latest certification continues our long-standing practice of bringing E911 solutions to Avaya customers that combine our industry-leading automated location information management technology with the latest features and benefits of the Avaya Communication Manager platform," said Anthony Maier, RedSky president and CEO. "This certification assures Avaya customers that a RedSky E911 solution will integrate seamlessly and cost-effectively into their traditional and IP communications network."
RedSky is a Premier member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection Program -- an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its network. To achieve the Premier level in the program members must submit their products to a team of Avaya engineers in Lincroft, NJ for complete interoperability testing according to a comprehensive test plan. This strict process ensures Avaya users that they can confidently add best-in-breed capabilities to their systems without having to replace their existing infrastructure -- speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and implementation costs.
In recognition of its strong product development achievements supporting IP telephony and on-site notification on Avaya systems, RedSky was also named DevConnect Member of the Year for 2004.
"We are pleased that RedSky continues to work so closely with Avaya to bring to market E911 solutions that are easier and more cost-effective for companies to implement within their existing multi-vendor networks," said Eric Rossman, vice president, Developer Relations and Technical Alliances, Avaya. "That means that together we're helping enterprise and government customers meet the critical need of providing E911 protection to their employees and visitors, and helping them derive greater value from their communications infrastructure."
