Core Router Awarded 'Best of Show' at Interop Tokyo 2006

Foundry Networks, Inc., a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, today announced that the NetIron XMR 32000 IP and MPLS core router was awarded "Best of Show" for the Infrastructure Core Product category at Interop Tokyo 2006, the premier telecommunications and network technology event which was held this week in Tokyo from June 7 through June 9, 2006.

Based on Interop Tokyo's meticulous and very high standards of judging, Foundry Networks' NetIron XMR 32000 won the "Best of Show" award in the Infrastructure Core Products category because of its innovative hardware design, industry leading 1-GbE and 10-GbE density and performance, extensive IPv4/IPv6 and MPLS features, and 100-GbE readiness.

"We feel high-performance is in the DNA of Foundry's products," said Kazumasa Kobayashi, Internet Tokyo 2006 Network Operations Center (NOC) manager. "Foundry's NetIron XMR Router series has excellent port density, scalability, and proven interoperability. This is the third consecutive year Foundry Networks has earned a "Best of Show" award in this category, which demonstrates Foundry's leadership in delivering innovative network infrastructure solutions to the world's most demanding enterprise and service provider customers.
