All-In-One VoIP and Wireless Data Network Solution
Vertical Communications announce the immediate availability of Xcelerator IP, a compact, cost-effective, feature-rich and fully integrated SIP-based IP telephony, data router/firewall and wireless access point solution. Designed for small businesses, the new all-in-one Xcelerator IP Business Communications System delivers significant and immediate cost savings by eliminating the need to purchase, integrate and manage multiple voice and data components. In addition, Xcelerator IP customers can reduce monthly communications costs by combining voice and data links through SIP-based access solutions provided by one of Vertical’s certified Internet Telephony Service Providers.
Comprehensive Communications, a Vertical Business Partner located in Great Neck NY, recently installed Xcelerator IP for a multi-site pharmacy customer. As a result, the pharmacy was able to switch from a digital telephone infrastructure to an IP system without rewiring the existing computer network. In addition, because Xcelerator IP offers advanced mobility features, the pharmacy staff can now answer calls from remote locations rather than having to be in the store, greatly improving customer service.
All-In-One Wireless VoIP and Data Solution
Offering a wide spectrum of voice and data handling capabilities, Xcelerator IP is ideal for small businesses with up to 24 employees who need affordable and integrated IP voice and data services with wired and wireless performance. Xcelerator IP is also well-suited for workers in home offices requiring a powerful, all-in-one solution with Web-based configuration for easy setup and maintenance.
Xcelerator IP offers a lower cost of ownership by integrating functionality that previously had to be purchased as separate systems, as well as helping to reduce ongoing monthly communications costs by allowing for more efficient voice and data services delivery to small businesses. The all-in-one architecture of Xcelerator IP includes:
Advanced SIP Gateway / IP Phone System
– Xcelerator IP supports up to twenty-four (24) Vertical IP2007 SIP telephones. Additional networked office and business equipment such as computers, printers, card readers and fax machines are also supported. WAN capabilities include support for up to eight (8) VoIP SIP trunk connections via a single WAN/RJ45 port and three (3) FXO PSTN trunk connections. LAN capabilities include one (1) FXS port, four (4) 10/100 Ethernet (RJ45) LAN ports, and an integrated 802.11g WAP.
Cost-effective SIP Carrier and Proxy Services
– The use of SIP carrier services further reduces the cost of ownership of Xcelerator IP. It eliminates the need to purchase additional equipment, such as managed media gateway devices to interface between IP voice and the traditional voice network. Xcelerator IP, combined with SIP carrier services, provides the means to support converged access, advanced voice compression techniques and dynamic bandwidth management across the SIP trunk interface. SIP trunking is also less expensive than analog or digital circuits while offering the same level of service that businesses require. To date, Xcelerator IP has been certified for use with ITSPs BlueMile, Quantumvoice, and Simple Signal.
Business-class SIP IP Telephone and Features
– The full-featured, ergonomic Vertical IP2007 SIP speakerphone, available separately, features a range of business-class features including multiple line appearances, a large LCD for call status, features and menus, and automatic plug-and-play registration with Xcelerator IP. The phone has four (4) line keys and four (4) soft keys for special call-handling features. Phone configuration is accomplished via the easy-to-use interactive soft keys and navigation buttons or via a Web browser. Using the 2-port 10/100 Ethernet switch built into the IP2007, customers can connect both a PC and the phone to the LAN using a single LAN cable. The IP2007 comes with an AC power adapter and also supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). The IP2007 is desk- or wall-mountable, and has a convenient, adjustable pedestal.
Integrated Voicemail and Auto Attendant
– The fully integrated voicemail and auto attendant features serve up to 4 stations simultaneously. Xcelerator IP has a 4-hour recording capacity and plays prompts in any two customer-defined languages.
911 Support
- For emergency 911 calls, a local analog telephone line can be provisioned. The analog line, not solely reserved for 911 support, can also be used for regular calling as well as failover in the event of power failure. In the case of a power failure, Xcelerator IP automatically falls back to the analog telephone line.
Easy Multi-site Networking
– Customers can network up to ten (10) Xcelerator IP devices to provide a multi-node solution with an integrated dial plan, within which users can initiate, receive or forward calls to each other. Additionally, Xcelerator IP supports remote teleworkers or smaller sites using Vertical IP2007 phones at these locations.
Integrated WiFi Access Point
– The integrated 802.11g WiFi Access Point provides connectivity to wireless laptops, softphones and Wi-Fi SIP handsets providing support for mobility applications in the workplace. Users are not tethered to the desktop for either voice or data requirements. Multiple levels of authorization and encryption ensure that rogue devices will not be able to access the wireless portion of Xcelerator IP.
WAN Routing, NAT and Firewall Security
– Provides security with WEP (64, 128-bit) encryption; 802.1x and WPA/WAP2 authentication; password-protected system management; a built-in firewall, and packet filtering.
Simple Web-based Setup and Configuration
– A powerful yet easy-to-use setup wizard walks the administrative user through each step required to configure the system. This Web-based configuration utility enables quick and easy access to the system to configure extensions, phone directories, numbering plans and auto attendant schedules from virtually anywhere. The system administrator can also use the utility to back up voicemail messages, the system database and voice files to a PC or network server.
Availability
The Xcelerator IP Business Communication System and Vertical IP2007 Telephone are certified for use in North America and are available for order through Vertical’s network of over 1800 Vertical Business Partners.
