BroadSoft Expands VoIP Applications in Europe
BroadSoft Inc.
, the leading provider of VoIP application software, announced that VoIP Solutions, the provider of cutting-edge VoIP technology to the Irish market, has selected the BroadWorks application platform to complete its voice over IP product portfolio, enabling the delivery of turnkey telephony solutions to residential and small and medium sized enterprise customers across Ireland.
VoIP Solutions enables companies to change the way they manage their voice communications through a range of services, support programs, training and tools that serve to highlight the operational and economic advantages of migrating to voice over Internet protocol. VoIP Solutions saw the network-based BroadWorks application platform as the best way to complement its existing core customer premises equipment (CPE) offering with advanced call functionality. The combination of technology offered by the service provider's other partners and BroadWorks VoIP application platform means that VoIP Solutions now has the ability to offer a complete, end-to-end VoIP service to its distributor, ISP and reseller channels and ultimately to residential and business end-users.
BroadSoft's IMS-compliant BroadWorks provides a comprehensive range of VoIP applications, including hosted PBX, IP Centrex, mobile PBX, business trunking and residential broadband services fully integrated into a single hosted communications platform. BroadWorks is uniquely capable of providing these applications with the reliability, redundancy, scalability and regulatory capabilities required to deliver carrier-class service.
"Our agreement with BroadSoft comes at a time when a large number of small businesses in Ireland have woken up to VoIP as a means to streamline communications," said Sean Brady, Managing Director of VoIP Solutions. "Leveraging this growing realization in the market, for the first time we are able to map out a direct route to a fully comprehensive VoIP package that includes support for a much greater range of applications than service providers have traditionally been able to offer. BroadWorks is a highly flexible platform whose scalability and compatibility with our CPE products translates to a significant up-sale opportunity in every customer engagement."
Tying the other elements of VoIP Solutions' technology together into a comprehensive IP proposition, BroadSoft is the only VoIP application provider to work with the Irish reseller. While helping to drive the adoption of voice over IP, the partnership also opens up tier two and tier three markets for BroadSoft across Ireland. In addition to BroadSoft's own European customer service centre in Prague, customers in Ireland will be able to contact VoIP Solutions directly for technical support and for product demonstrations.
"As a deregulated market, the opportunity for VoIP to grow into businesses of all sizes is clear. Our agreement with VoIP Solutions reflects our focus and commitment to the Irish market in meeting the needs of end-users and in providing an alternative means to building functionality into the enterprise without incurring the stress and costs normally associated with a traditional in-house phone system," commented Howard Lewis, Vice President and General Manager Europe for BroadSoft. "Having someone on the ground in Ireland to provide local support at multiple levels is an important consideration. It also means that resellers are able to turn a prospect into a sale that much quicker," he continued.
VoIP Solutions is also working with Quintum for VoIP gateway and switching, AVM for connectivity, Allied Telesyn for network enterprise products and Asterisk for open source PBX functions to deliver the BroadWorks VoIP application platform as part of its complete IP telephony service.
