Sony Electronics introduced the VAIO UX Micro PC, placing full-size computer performance in a pocket-sized package.

Weighing just over a pound, VAIOthe new PC has a Microsoft XP Professional operating system and an Intel Core Solo Ultra Low Voltage CPU for fast processing and long battery life.

The UX model also features a 4.5-inch wide SVGA screen with XBRITE technology for viewing that slides up to expose an integrated keyboard. This allows you to access familiar applications easily in the same way you would on a full-sized computer.

Atmel Embeds RADVISION SIP In VoIP Chipsets

JDSU Scores Big in Broadband Gear Report's 2006

JDSU announced that three of its triple-play test products won high marks in this year's Diamond Technology rating from Broadband Gear Report's (BGR) 2006 Diamond Technology Review Panel. These products included the NetComplete VoIP service assurance solution for cable operators, which received the highest assigned score -- a 4.5 out of a possible five.

BGR called JDSU's NetComplete VoIP service assurance solution "an excellent product with technical features and performance that provide clear and substantial benefits." Only eight of the 31 products reviewed this year received a 4.5 Diamond rating. No product has ever scored higher than a 4.5 in the two years of this program.

Unanimously Approved .Tel Domain by Internet Regulator

ICANN (The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) unanimously approved the creation of the new .Tel Top Level Domain (TLD) and awarded the contract to Telnic Limited.

"The .Tel domain offers the first genuinely different use of domains since .com was first created. It will provide seamless integration of existing methods of communication with emerging technologies like Voice over IP (VoIP). This places the .Tel domain at the core of the next phase of Internet development," said Khashayar Mahdavi, CEO of Telnic.

GlobeTel Communications Corp., announced the launch of VozBrasil (http://www.vozbrasil.com), a service which will allow Brazilians to call their friends, relatives and business associates in the US through a local number, at local rates, without the need for broadband internet access or any special equipment.
