Pulvermedia announces the addition of several new speakers, vendors, pre-conference tutorials and breakout sessions at Fall 2007 VON that focus on mobile and wireless content. Now in its eleventh year, VON continues to reflect the state of the IP-communications industry -- and as such, the upcoming Fall 2007 VON event will feature more Mobile-VoIP and wireless content than ever before.

"The war on the Internet is over, in the sense that broadband is pervasive in the office, as well as in the home setting -- and today, the next steps involve making us all one-in-the-same with the Mobile Internet," said Carl Ford, VP of Content and Community at Pulvermedia. "This is the next major battle in our industry, and we'll be spending a lot of time discussing this at Fall VON."

VoIP announces that it has recently added new customers to its network and experienced an increase in usage from existing customers resulting in a 40 percent increase in overall network minutes per day being carried over the Company’s network during the period from September 15, 2007 to October 15, 2007. This represents the largest increase in network traffic since its inception. VoIP receives payments from its customers based upon their utilization. VoIP expects a significant increase in October revenue compared to the previous month due to substantially higher usage of its network. In addition to increased utilization of the network, the Company announced that variable gross margins on the minutes carried over the network continue to improve, from approximately 33 percent in the 30-day period prior to September 15th, to 45 percent in the subsequent 30 days.

Switch & Data announces that the company will make a presentation on enhancing VoIP network redundancy using peering at the Fall VON conference and expo on October 31st at the Boston Convention Center.

Drew Leonard, Director of Product Marketing for Switch and Data, is scheduled to present on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at 10:45 a.m. EDT, in the Solutions Theater. Mr. Leonard’s presentation is titled “VoIP Network Redundancy – Enhancing Fault Tolerance,” and will focus on a solution to reduce the impact of network outages by implementing a VoIP peering strategy.

Vyke has signed a global agreement with Nokia Corporation to distribute Vyke’s mobile VoIP service, Mobile IP. Under the terms of the agreement, Vyke has licensed Nokia to distribute the mobile handset software component of the Vyke Mobile IP service. New users acquired via the Nokia on-device content portal ‘Download!’ will automatically be directed to Vyke’s end user communications portal, www.vyke.com and have accounts created simply within the Vyke system.

MySpace and Skype announce a partnership to empower the MySpace community with voice communications. With more than 110 million monthly active MySpace users and 220 million Skype registered users around the world, this partnership connects two of the most popular communications platforms on the Internet to create the world’s largest online, voice-connected community.

The announcement unveils MySpaceIM with Skype, a new product that integrates MySpace’s popular IM client—currently the world’s fastest-growing IM platform with more than 25 million installed users—with Skype’s free, high-quality voice-calling capability. The partnership will also enable users to link their MySpace profiles and photos or avatars to their accounts on Skype. Both products will be available to users starting in November.

Raketu announces it has extended its free calling promotion allowing consumers to make free phone-to-phone calls globally via its RakWeb VoIP telephony service. RakWeb is entirely web-based and does not require consumers to download any software. Consumers can access RakWeb from any Web browser, enter their own phone number, then enter the destination number, and Raketu connects the lines. Raketu is currently offering 600 minutes of free calling each month for three months to locations globally within the company’s free calling zones.

Switchvox launches Switchvox Hosted Edition the only virtualized IP PBX that can seamlessly transfer small business customers to a dedicated on-site appliance. This unique offering is ideal for service providers and office suites that require a higher density solution to sell to smaller offices, which are often hesitant to purchase hosted phone systems that are unable to grow with their businesses.

Telanetix expands its AccessLine Division service footprint with 360networks, adding support for an additional 130 rate centers. 360networks is a U.S. provider of fiber optic network communications and information services in the western United States. AccessLine selected 360networks' VoIP360 for its expansive rate center footprint and state of the art IP network, which enables AccessLine to extend its offerings with services such as inbound and outbound local calling, directory listings, local number portability and caller ID.

SK Telink announces at the BroadSoft Connections 2007 Executive Users Conference that it will work with five major cable providers in South Korea to bring VoIP services to residential consumers, small businesses and home offices using BroadSoft's BroadWorks application platform.

SK Telink's new offering integrates VoIP with customers' set-top television cable boxes. The BroadWorks-based services work through customers' cable boxes to display caller ID, a phone directory and other phone services on the TV, while customers watch television programs. These calling features can be controlled with the TV remote control. Residential customers can get premium services such as call pick-up, call transfer and shared-call appearance to use among family members.

Empirix announces that Global Crossing has selected its Hammer XMS to monitor and test call quality on Global Crossing's global IP-based network. Global Crossing offers its enterprise and carrier customers a highly reliable worldwide network, designed for the convergence of voice, video and data. The company sought a partner that could help it ensure the highest levels of VoIP quality. Klausner Technologies announces that it has granted a patent license to Vonage for its Vonage Voicemail services, and that it has settled its lawsuit against Vonage for infringement of US Patent No. 5,572,576. Vonage joins Time Warner subsidiary AOL, and others, who have taken out licenses under the same Klausner patents for their Internet Voicemail services.
