Polycom announces the Polycom VVX 1500 C business media phone has been certified for use with Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1 and 7.0 by tekVizion, an independent third-party lab. The VVX 1500 C, which is the model certified for interoperability with Cisco UCM, combines a personal video conferencing system with a fully featured VoIP telephone with Polycom HD Voice and an open API for integration with key business applications.

Proxim Wireless announces that KPN Hotspots, Holland's largest provider of Wi-Fi hotspots, is expanding its partnership with Proxim as the provider of its Wi-Fi networking equipment. KPN already has more than 2,000 of Proxim's ORiNOCO AP-700 and AP-4000 access points deployed throughout Holland and has partnered with Proxim to deliver Wi-Fi hotspot services for nearly three years. KPN announces that it has ordered more than 600 new access points from Proxim to continue the expansion of its network.

Ixia has signed a definitive agreement with Catapult Communications, under which Ixia will acquire Catapult for $9.25 per share in cash. The transaction is valued at approximately $105 million, or $63 million net of Catapult’s cash and investments. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter.
