Wayne State College First Major Deployment of VoIP in Nebraska

Mitel, the trusted innovator of IP communications solutions and applications, announced that Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska has selected it to implement an advanced IP communications system throughout its campus. This is the first major deployment of VoIP in the state of Nebraska.

"Our old system was due to expire and the cost to upgrade and continue with a Centrex system would increase significantly," said Wayne State College chief technology officer Denis Linster. "We selected the Mitel solution because we wanted a state-of-the-art technology system that we had full control over and that offered a migration strategy that would give us the ability to deploy advanced applications as they are developed."

Fusion Telecommunications International, Inc. announced that it filed a patent application with the United States Patent Office for its Directed SIP Peer-to- Peer ("DSP") technology, acquired by Fusion in February 2006. The patent application describes a system that Fusion plans to utilize to provide its free service between SIP devices.

Triple Play Over DSL in Australia

CommTel Network Solutions Australia, a value added re-seller of Nokia's network solutions, has signed an agreement for the supply and implementation of Nokia broadband DSL solutions and related services to the Soul group of companies all operating in Australia. Deliveries commenced in January 2006 and the system will be up and running during April 2006.

VoIP Solution from Nortel and Quintum Technologies

Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD) in Phoenix, Arizona has deployed Nortel's CS 1000, along with Tenor VoIP switches from Quintum Technologies, enabling realization of significant advantages offered by Voice over IP service as compared to their traditional phone system.

DVUSD, which covers nearly 400 square miles and encompasses 37 schools, deployed Nortel's Communication Server 1000 system to provide IP phone support throughout the entire district. The Nortel CS 1000 provides significant advantages, including shared data and voice network resources and centralized administration and management. With a single CS 1000 system, Voice over IP service is provided to all facilities throughout the district.

American Cable Strikes a 'Triple Play' in Florida

VoX Communications Corp., eLEC Communications Corp.'s wholesale and retail provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services nationwide, announced that American Cable Services, an independent cable operator located in Ocala, Fla., is deploying VoX services as the broadband phone component of a new "triple play" offer, which also includes cable TV and high speed Internet. UHS Broadens IP-Based Alarm Monitoring in the U.S.

Two additional alarm monitoring companies have chosen UHS Systems, Inc. to provide wholesale, Internet Protocol (IP)-based alarm monitoring service to their customers. The contracts make IP-based alarm monitoring more widely available in the United States. Terms of both contracts were undisclosed. UHS Systems offers broadband IP security alarm services, video event verification, live remote video viewing and digital wireless back-up solutions to its customers, and is the American subsidiary of the Australian broadband company UHS Systems Pty Ltd.
