Matrix Announces VoIP Mobile Software 'V Phone' for the iPhone

Australian firm Matrix announces the launch of its proprietary V Phone: wireless and mobile VoIP software for the iPhone platform, which has the immense potential to be a forerunner in the supply of software to VoIP Service Providers.

The V Phone software client is targeted at IP Telephony companies that are or intend to provide voice and telephony services to end-users. For VoIP Service Providers that are providing land based voice services, the V Phone solution is the ideal opportunity for providers to further boost their revenue stream by offering wireless or mobile VOIP calls. Matrix will provide a white label or branded version of the V Phone that is customised to a provider’s specifications. This versatile application can be locked down to a provider's settings, branded with their logo and integrated with the provider's backend system or toolbox.

AT&T Admits to Blocking Mobile VoIP Calling on its 3G Network

att_logo.gifAT&T has admitted to the Federal Communications Commission that it struck a deal to prevent mobile VoIP calling on its 3G network. In fact, no cellular carrier in the United States allows VoIP calling across their mobile network. VoIP technology saves consumers money by routing calls over the Internet instead of traditional networks. AT&T responded to the FCC inquiry, arguing that the deal was needed to assure that revenues from its current voice plans would not be reduced by enabling mobile VoIP calling.

Vodafone Germany Enables Mobile VoIP Services

Vodafone Germany has confirmed to teltarif.de that it has enabled mobile VoIP services on its network. The operator's press departments told teltarif that users would have to pay additional costs for mobile VoIP and other new services, which will be available only with the company's SuperFlat internet tariffs. Customers subscribing to the SuperFlat Internet Weekend tariff will pay an extra EUR 29.95 for the Internet Plus option with a 24-month contract.

VOXOFON Launches Mobile VoIP for Palm Pre

voxofon_logo.pngVOXOFON has expanded the availability of its low-cost international calling services by introducing a mobile VoIP application for the Palm WebOS platform. The application is designed for use on the new Palm Pre smart phone. VOXOFON plans to make the new application available on the Palm App Catalog later this year. After installation the callers can simply click on the VOXOFON icon on the phone screen to place a low-cost international call. The application works anywhere the phone has coverage and does not require a Wi-Fi connection. In addition, there are no monthly fees or contracts.
